Since Gallagher first earned its place on the Ethisphere World’s Most Ethical Company list it has retained this recognition year on year, and as the only insurance broker to merit inclusion.
In today’s business climate, where transparency and trust have become more important than ever, this is an important distinction.
The Ethisphere Institute is an independent international arbiter of business ethics and corporate responsibility in action. The selection process is based on an assessment consisting of more than 200 questions covering company culture, environmental, social and governance practices, ethics and compliance activities, diversity and initiatives to support a strong value chain. This identifies the organisations that measure up against the benchmarks set by the world’s leading companies across all industries.
“This distinction as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies is not just earned year over year,” says Gallagher President, Chief Executive and Chairman Pat Gallagher. “We work toward it every day, in a continuous process of getting better, going farther and doing more for our clients, partners and one another.”
Reflecting on the Gallagher position that ‘times change, but ethics don’t' he adds, “While the meaning of ethical behaviour is up for discussion as our cultural norms change, we feel there will always be a standard of right and wrong that remains unchanged.”
Gallagher Chief Executive – Australia Sarah Lyons says, “Being recognised by Ethisphere as a World’s Most Ethical Company for an eighth consecutive year reflects unswerving commitment to doing the right thing – by clients, our people, and the communities we serve. It’s the Gallagher Way and an integral part of a culture that is helping us to build great things together with clients in Australia.”
The key tenets contained in the Gallagher Way were penned in 1984 by our former Chairman and CEO, Robert E. Gallagher, and are respected and observed throughout the company.
