Awards were also conferred on outstanding trainees in the industry.

Civil Contractors Federation SA chief executive Phil Sutherland said his organisation had recently started to actively recruit more women into the industry and that the award wins demonstrated that members have embraced the campaign for greater diversity in the workforce.

Gallagher SA Business Development Executive Tom DeSantis, who presented the Women in Civil Award to winner Carly Zanini (pictured), says, “Gallagher is proud to be associated with the CCF SA’s recognition of the contribution women make to the civil construction industry and is 100% behind equal opportunity based on merit. This is something we share with CCF SA in our culture at Gallagher. Our Australian chief executive is a woman and we have many more in key roles in the company.”
