Gallagher announces Roz Shaw as National Head of Transport

Gallagher has announced the appointment of Roz Shaw as National Head of Transport, who will take up her role in early July.

With a career spanning almost four decades, Shaw has been at the helm of Hawkins Road Transport since 1981, a $150 million turnover Queensland business founded by her family in 1921.

Shaw has been an active voice in the industry, lobbying for critical change to ensure it moves with the times, delivered in her capacity as former Vice President of the Queensland Transport Association.

Paul Harvey, Divisional Managing Director at Gallagher, said: “Attracting someone of Roz’s standing is a terrific win for Gallagher, and a great fit for our team of specialist transport advisors. It also speaks volumes on the Gallagher brand becoming a significant draw card in the insurance broking community.

“I am confident with Roz on board that we can bring fresh thinking to the conversation with clients, the industry and the local business communities who depend on the transportation of goods for their livelihood.”

Shaw added: “Gallagher recognises the transport sector is a unique space with its own distinct risks and complexities. Through knowledge of the industry and engagement with transport operators and stakeholders, I believe Gallagher provides an offering that creates real value for clients. I look forward to being on board in early July.”

Gallagher offers significant Transport & Logistics insurance capability, covering a broad range of expertise areas responding to the complex needs of fleet and owner operators through to developing complex risk programs for multi-national carriers.
