Passionate about all things client, with her knack for whitespace and leveraging the best from opportunities fostered it’s no wonder Laura has a green thumb!

How long have you been with Gallagher?

I’ve been with Gallagher since 2013.

What’s your background?

I started as a personal lines executive back in 2013 fresh out of working for the RACQ selling car and home insurance. In the last six years I have worked my way through the ranks to my current position as Team Leader ‒ Associations in the Beenleigh Branch.

What is the scope of your current role?

My current role as a team leader involves supporting my team in managing their portfolios, their clients and their personal career and goal aspirations.

I also manage a small book of clients who are involved in the Nursery & Garden Industry Association.

How did you come to be part of the Rising Stars program?

I loved the idea and eagerly applied, with my manager’s support.

What particularly earned you recognition: activities, projects?

I believe it was the work that I did with the Nursery & Garden Industry Association, in building up a client base and really advocating for the industry through their insurance programs, supporting events and expos and being involved on the association board.

How is the program contributing to your career and skills development?

When I first applied for Rising Stars I was an account executive, I’m now a team leader and I believe that some of the skills I learned during the first sessions contributed to that.

What has been your most valuable learning?

Learning about my strengths and focusing on how to build and grow them instead of focusing on my weaknesses and trying to fix them.

What are your challenges?

The balancing act between my broker hat and my team leader hat. I want the world for my team and always want to ensure I’m supporting and encouraging them with everything they do, but making sure that my clients are also supported and serviced at the same time.

What’s your ambition for the future?

To continue to grow as a leader, to support my team and learn from them, and to watch them become the best that they can be.

Your chance to be a star
