The Gallagher South Australia team scored 64 off the stick, got third place overall (due to a heavy applied handicap) and took home the prize for the longest drive at the Civil Contractors Federation of South Australia (CCFSA) Golf Day at the Grange Golf Club on Friday 15 March.
The annual CCFSA-hosted event brings together about 150 guest partners, suppliers, sponsors and contractors. Gallagher SA’s Diamond Partner sponsorship earned the branch the opportunity to compete against 31 other teams with our own four golfing talents: (pictured below, from left to right) Gallagher SA’s Will Laundy, Simon Connelly from Gallagher Benefits, Kevin Loader, and Ian Brookson from Gallagher Bassett. Tom DeSantis (above, centre) was there to help host the event and barrack for our players.
We also got to sponsor a hole on the course: the 16th which demands the longest drive, and was manned, or womened in this case, by Kerry Lovegrove and Lauren Campbell who collected business cards for a prize draw. The prize for the longest drive, a Zebra Z-41 White Mallet Putter – donated by Gallagher, was taken home by our very own Will Laundy.
The contestants teed off at 8am and finished at 1.00pm, in time for a lunch with raffles and donated prizes and were entertained by guest speaker 1980s cricket great Wayne Phillips who entertained the audience by recounting his experiences as a Baggy Greens batsman and wicket keeper.
“The CCFSA annual golf day is always a great opportunity to catch up with our existing clients and we get to network with prospective clients too,” says Business Development Executive Tom DeSantis. “Gallagher SA has supported this event for many years as it brings together the civil construction community and we have some fun at the same time!”
