Congratulations to Gallagher Victoria account executive Pat Musngi, the Victoria/Tasmania state finalist for the prestigious Warren Tickle Memorial Award.
The insurance industry award goes to a young broker below the age of 35 who exhibits an outstanding level of professionalism and integrity. This award was first conferred in 1990 in honour of Warren Tickle, a former Insurance Commissioner and insurance lecturer.
Entrants are drawn from industry nominations to the National Insurance Brokers Association of Australia (NIBA) and asked to submit entries comprising
- a current CV including copies of their qualifications
- 2 x client references
- 2 x underwriter references
- a personal statement (max 500 words) outlining notable achievements and how they feel they meet the award criteria.
Pat says he was blindsided by the news that he’s a finalist. “I was quite chuffed even about just being nominated. This feels quite surreal, I didn’t realise how prestigious the award is.”
Nominees are judged mainly on their achievements in the previous years, including being a role model and contributing to the insurance community and excellence in broking practice,
The Victorian state winner will be announced on 24 May. Then the state winners will attend a two-day personal development workshop in Sydney from 22‒23 August and later attend the annual NIBA Convention on the Gold Coast 14‒15 October, where the national winner is announced.
Pat says that he’s looking forward to the workshops providing the opportunity to identify his fellow finalists’ different paths. “I think I understand my own motivational factors and trigger points, but if there’s one thing I value, that’s critical to this industry, it’s connecting with other people.”
Best of luck, Pat, Gallagher Australia is behind you!
