Bentleigh Greens are targeting a little slice of history in tonight's FFA Cup semi-final against Adelaide United, aiming to become the first Member Federation side to reach the final.
NPL Victoria side Bentleigh have enjoyed a memorable cup run, the highlight of which was their 1-0 win over A League outfit Wellington Phoenix in the round of 32. They'll have their work cut out for them against Adelaide, though, with the SA team desperate to go one better than last year when they lost in the final to Sydney FC.
Tonight's clash will mark the second occasion where the Greens have contested an FFA Cup semi, after they were ousted by Perth Glory at the same stage in 2014.
The second semi-final on Saturday night is a mouthwatering all Sydney clash, with Western Sydney Wanderers facing off against defending champions Sydney FC. Wanderers enjoy home advantage and will be looking to make the final for the first time. The final itself takes place on 31 October.
