Gallagher tops its Movember donation record

Being in the insurance sector means that the Gallagher Team is in a position to be especially aware of the issue of men’s health. That’s why we've been active participants in Movember since 2008, raising $115,000 in total with this year’s donation of $15,000.

blog-thumb-movember.jpgOur Mo Bros and Sistas across Australia helped fundraise a record $10,308 in 2017, topped up on behalf of Gallagher by Chief Executive – Australia Sarah Lyons to a company total of $15,000.

The enduring efforts of the Gallagher participants over many years were even picked up on by Movember Foundation founder Travis Garone, who said: “The numbers you guys are talking are mind blowing. We can’t thank you guys enough. Truly impressive!”

During the fundraising month, Gallagher citizens joined in the spirit of the cause by sporting temporary – and sometimes imaginatively improvised – moustaches and contributing in unique ways, such as Melbourne’s splendid mo cake, complete with textured icing, along with digging deep to help achieve the Australia-wide result.

Gallagher Australia partnered with Pen Underwriting and Crombie Lockwood New Zealand, who raised over $11,500 & nearly $5,000 respectively, in making a combined donation of over $31,000 to the Movember Foundation, enabling progress in research and treatment of prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

This is corporate giving on a grand scale and reflects our ethical company culture of cooperation, caring and community involvement expressed in the The Gallagher Way.
